Telecommunications – SDH engineers

You have several years experience and at least 3 years dedicated to design, build and support of SDH and Metro-Ethernet telco grade networks, have data centre infrastructure experience and hold several recognised industry or vendor technical qualifications. Holding an ITIL or equivalent certification would be a distinct advantage.

Job Summary         We are looking for a person who can design, install and support Telecom products and technologies including PDH, SDH, Fibre, Frame, Cell, Switched, Leased, Ethernet, IP

Responsibilities          

• Ensuring customer connections are delivered within SLA
• Installation and Support of all equipment SDH/PDH/WDM technologies
• Documentation of customer connections
• Producing and maintaining accurate customer records
• Liaising with Fibre and Provisioning engineers
• Assist in Design of Network Infrastructure
• Monitoring and Management of the network
• Continuous development of skills and knowledge ensuring up to date capability for relevant new products and technologies
• Provide ongoing support for Customers

Required Technical Skills       

• Extensive knowledge of Data and Telecom Network technologies gained from Telecom, Internet or IT industries
• Excellent knowledge of SDH configurations and protocols
• Excellent knowledge of PDH configurations and protocols
• Excellent knowledge of Fibre technology
• Good knowledge LAN and WAN technologies
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP networks
• In depth analytical and problem solving skills

Required Personal Skills         

• Proven track record of designing, implementing and supporting networks based SDH, PDH and WDM technologies
• Strong troubleshooting abilities
• Strong communication and team-player skills
• Multitasking – be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Multitasking – be able to handle multiple issues simultaneously
• Turin and LastMile experience is desirable
